Champion - There will be a funeral service held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, Warren for Garnet N. West, 94, of Champion, who passed away late Thursday evening, November 14, 2013 at Champion Estates Assisted Living with her loving family by her side. Garnet will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born February 16, 1919 in Bowerston, Ohio the daughter of William and Sylvia (Fleeman) Garvin and moved to the Warren area in the 1940's. Garnet was employed at General Electric along with being a homemaker. She loved going out to eat, shopping, cooking, baking, and traveling to Las Vegas, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband Frank H. West whom she married August 29, 1939 and passed away December 21, 1973. She is survived by her daughter Judith (Raymond) Skebe of Warren, two grandchildren James (Kelly) Skebe and Michelle (Daniel) Conner, one great grandchild Peyton Weaver, and two step great grandchildren Corey Conner and Amber Meyers. Besides her parents and husband Garnet was preceded in death by two brothers Floyd and Virgil Garvin and two sisters Freda Whipps and Marie Remmert. Family and friends may call Monday from 12:00 noon to 12:55 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, Warren. Burial will be in Dugan Cemetery in Fowler.
