Warren - George Djelic, 52, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at the home of a family member. George was born February 2, 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Danko M. "Dan" Djelic and Vladislava Petrovic. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Champion where he served as an Elder. He was a member of American Legion Post 540, Trumbull County Honor Guard, Leavittsburg American Legion Post 699 and Master of Cortland Masonic Lodge 529. George was devoted to helping others, and enjoyed playing the piano, history, reading and traveling. George earned a Bronze Star for active duty service in 1990-1991 in Desert Storm. He was a decorated veteran of both the U.S. Navy and the Army. He is survived by his sister, Ana Chester DDS, of Warren, nieces Alana and Oksana Chester, Virginia Williams and two nephews Steve Williams, Jr. and Donald Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Service by the Masonic Lodge 529 at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren and Friday from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Champion 1321 State Rd. Warren, Ohio 44481. Service will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the Church with Bishop Steve Williams Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren with Full Military Honors.
