Vienna - George L. Valent, 89, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015, at his residence with his family by side. He was born July 23, 1926, in Farrell, Pa. the son of the late George and Anna Valent. He was a graduate of Brookfield High School and the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy, George retired as the Owner and Operator of Vienna Pharmacy after 45 years. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Vienna and past President of the Trumbull County Pharmacist Association. He enjoyed reading, telling jokes, sporting events, gardening, and especially spending time with his five grandsons. George served in the U.S. Navy during WW-II. He is survived by his wife D'Nelle Valent whom he married February 3, 1968, three children George M. Valent of Denver, CO, Gregory (Tricia) Valent of Warren, and Jason (Debbi Rathz) Valent M.D. of Eastlake, five grandsons Gregory F., twins Patrick and Thomas, Dominic and Anthony Valent, and three sisters Julia (Joseph) Chaky of Warren, Susan Bouslough of Brookfield and Rosie (Gerry) Johnson of Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Mary Koening, and Helen Palko. Family and friends may call today from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Vienna with Rev.Frank Zanni officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
