Howland - Gus M. Tsimpinos, 94, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 1, 1921, in Warren, Ohio the son of the late Michalis and Victoria Tsimpinos. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in WW II in the 448th Fighter-Bomber Group. Gus retired in 1980 from the Vienna Air Base as a Supervisor in corrosion control after 40 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Warren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife Efthalia "Thalia" Tsimpinos whom he married July 19, 1959, two children JoAnne (John) Radu of Warren, and Victor M. Tsimpinos of Norfolk, VA, three grandchildren Chris, Constantine and Constantine, and a sister Sylvia Kloss of Champion. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael P. Tsimpinos and a sister Mary Nikolaides. Family and friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE Warren and Friday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church 2053 North Rd. NE Warren. A Service will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church with Fr. Kenneth M. Bachofsky officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Gus's name to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2053 North Rd.
