Cortland - Harold L. Cox, 89, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born September 25, 1924 in Brave, PA. the son of John and Etta Cox. He came to Warren in 1946. He retired from United Telephone Co. as a foreman after 30 years. Harold was a member of Cortland United Methodist Church, Cortland Lions Club, Warren American Legions Post 278, 40 & 8 Division of American Legion and the Warren Telephone Company Pioneer Club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, golfing and his grandchildren. Harold served in WW II Army in the 44th Infantry. He is survived by his wife Blanche Cox who he married March 28, 1946, daughter Dianna (John) Bokone of Warren, two grandchildren Jason (Rochelle) Kadvan and Stacy (Brandon) Munroe and two great grandchildren Samantha and Alexa. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Family and friends may call Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor David R. Vensel officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Harold's name to Cortland United Methodist Church.
