Newton Falls - Helen F. Liepold, 87, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. She was born August 18, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Horan. She was a graduate of Lourdes Academy. Helen retired from Elkem Metals in Ashtabula as a Time keeper after fifteen years. She moved to Champion in 1954 from Cleveland, Ohio. Helen was a member of St. William Church in Champion, Golden Agers, Naim Club, Quilting Club and the Bereavement Committee of the Church. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and exercising. She is survived by her four children Donald (Gerry) Liepold of Occidental, CA, John "Jack" (Patricia) Liepold of Champion, Catherine "Cathy" (Brian) Humphrey of Mentor, and Patricia (John) Heib of Champion, six grandchildren Edward Liepold, Melissa (Bud) McDermott, Stephanie (Dan) White, Phillip (Jessica) Humphrey, Caroline "Carrie" (Jon) Alborn and Brianna Heib, nine great grandchildren and a sister Clare Barrett of Hinkley, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Liepold whom she married January 18, 1947 and passed away February 21, 1991, and three sisters Catherine Carlson, Margaret Horan and Pat Joyce. Family and friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren and Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at St. William Church in Champion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Michael D. Balash officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
