WARREN - Helen L. Sekula, 82, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Hospice House in Poland.

Helen was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Patton, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Helen Kupetz Sasala.

Helen lived most of her life and attended schools in Warren, graduating from Warren G. Harding High School in 1947.

She retired from Sears.

Helen was a member of SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society and Ladies Guild of the church.

Helen's husband, Joseph Sekula, whom she married Aug. 19, 1950, passed away Aug. 2, 1997.

Helen leaves a son, Joseph M. (Colleen) Sekula of Warren; three daughters, Debbie (Mark) Gregoire of Cleveland, Kathleen (John) Shinosky of Warren and Janet (Gene) Vallozzi of Warren; a sister, Ann Sasala of Warren; and four grandchildren, A J (Deanna) Gorrell, Gregory Sekula, Jeffrey Gorrell and Dominic Vallozzi; and a stepgreat-grandson, Ethan Smith.

In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Michael E. Sasala.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The Divine Liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church preceded by a 10 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may be made to Hospice House in Poland.
