August 26, 1917 – April 5, 2015
Helen W. Dudek, 97, of Warren, entered into eternal life on Easter Sunday morning, April 5, 2015 at 8:01 a.m. in St. Joseph Health Care Center in Warren.
Helen was born on August 26, 1917 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna B. (Gierlach) Walchak and attended Warren G. Harding High School
Helen was a member of St. John Paul II Parish on North Street in Warren and SCOPE. She enjoyed traveling abroad with her sister, Nellie and to Hawaii. She enjoyed flowers and housekeeping. A favorite past time was going to Polka Festivals and the Bloomfield Auction with her husband, John. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved the challenge of doing crossword puzzles daily up until her passing. Most of all, Helen enjoyed the time she spent with her children and all of her grandchildren.
Helen retired in 1975 from Packard Electric where she worked as a press operator for over 30 years.
Helen was united in marriage on May 25, 1935 to John F. Dudek and they were married for 41 years until his passing on October 3, 1977.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and sister, Helen will be sadly missed by three sons Richard T. ( Carol) Dudek of Howland Township, Robert J. (Linda) Dudek of Little River, SC., and Ronald (Cindy) Dudek of Austintown; two daughters Gloria (Anthony) Kolonich of Howland Township and Debra (Joseph) Danko of Stow. She also leaves her sister Nellie Rutherford of Warren; nine grandchildren Jill, Jeffrey and Brian Dudek, Nikke (James) Frantz, Barbara (Peter) Fontaine, Michael (Erin) Kolonich, Joseph Danko, David (Sarah) Danko and Michael Danko and four great grandchildren Kylie, Jimmy, Abby and Jessica.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44481.
Services will begin on Thursday, April 9, 2015 with closing prayers to be recited at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating, in St. John Paul II Parish, 420 North Street NW, Warren, Ohio 44485.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Champion.
As a sign of sympathy and condolence, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mrs. Dudek's name to either the Salvation Army, Diabetes Association or to the church.
