Warren - Herbert W. “Herb” Kraml, 87, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 15, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Herb was born on May 31, 1939, in Ridijica, Yugoslavia, a son of the late Joseph A. Kraml and Regina Braeutigam. In 1947, he and his family emigrated to the United States in search of new opportunities and a brighter future.
In 1958, following graduation from Linesville High School, Herb proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country until 1961. He attained the rank of lance corporal and received an honorable discharge, carrying with him a lasting sense of pride in his military service and a deep appreciation for his fellow veterans.
In 1960, Herb married the love of his life, Leslee A. Hartman. In 1963, they moved to Warren, Ohio, where they would put down roots and build their family. Throughout their 34 years of marriage, Herb and Leslee created a home filled with love and laid the foundation for a legacy that would continue through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A dedicated and hardworking provider, Herb spent 37 years at Packard Electric, where he worked as a tool and die maker before retiring.
Outside of work, Herb enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking, finding pleasure in the simple things that made life meaningful. He particularly loved boating and treasured his time on the water as a member of the Ashtabula Yacht Club. Herb also remained devoted to his fellow veterans as a member of Howland American Legion Post 700, maintaining the bonds of service and camaraderie that meant so much to him. Above all else, Herb's greatest pride and joy was his family. He cherished the time spent with those he loved and took immense pride in watching his family grow through the generations.
Herb will always be remembered and lovingly missed by his daughter, Sandra Kraml-Murray and her husband, Bryant Murray; five grandchildren, Anthony (Jacqueline) Kraml, Jonathan (Emily) Morris, McKenzie Morris, Matthew (Jaclyn) Kraml, and Marc Kraml (Alexis Willoughby); six great-grandchildren, Celia Orr, Emerson, Lennox, and Remington Kraml, and Lucas and Isla Morris; and his daughter-in-law, Monica Kraml.
Besides his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Leslee Kraml; his son, Michael A. Kraml; and his brother, Richard Kraml.
