Obituary

Warren - Iolunda (Violet) Bonini, 89, of Warren, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Omni Manor Health Care Center. She was born May 7, 1924 in Homer City, Pa. the daughter of Amindore and Fermina Succheralli and she was a graduate of Homer City (Pa) High School. She was a member of St. Pius X Church and their Altar and Rosary Society. She loved her parish and she volunteered for the Vincent de Paul soup kitchen on Niles Road for many years, serving the needs of the poor. She took care of the Church lines for 40 years and she volunteered for the Red Cross Free Swim Program at Packard Pool every summer for many years. She also worked for the Warren City Schools for 15 years, serving meals to the students. She enjoyed camping with her husband, traveling and enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren. Her husband John A. Bonini whom she married June 1, 1946, died on April 12, 2012. Cherishing her precious memories are her survivors, including a daughter: Corinne (Tom) Hewitt of Youngstown; two sons: Richard (Michele) Bonini of Richmond, VA., and Don R. (Cheryl) Bonini of Warren; four grandchildren: Christopher (Carrie) Baker, Eric (Katie) Bonini, Adam Bonini and Dante Bonini; and five great grandchildren: Madeline Baker, Jacob Baker, Nolan Bonini, Ella Bonini and Lily Bonini. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and her son David J. Bonini, three brothers Albert, James and Augusta Succheralli and two sisters Annie and Iolunda Succheralli. Calling hours will be Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 to 9:20 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 at Blessed John Paul II Parish, (St. Joseph Church) with Rev. William J. Loveless officiating, preceded by a 9:20 a.m. prayer service held at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio 70 W.
