NILES - Irene Shura, 85, of Niles, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Irene was born April 23, 1926, in Lobota, W.Va., the daughter of Carl I. and Dominica Glushko Shura.

She graduated from Elkhorn High School in Switchback, W.Va., in 1944.

Irene retired from Bank One in 1983. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.

Irene traveled extensively and enjoyed photography very much.

Irene leaves a sister, Anne Teringo of Warren; and eight nieces and nephews, Minka Sprague, Dan Shura, Alice Stout, Shay Robertson, Terri Allison, Patti McKeiver and Edward Teringo Jr.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Stemas; three brothers, Daniel, Samuel and Stanley Shura; and one sister, Katherine Caparossi.

Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
