WARREN - James Bokone, 84, of Warren, passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, in Cortland Health Care Center.

James was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Warren, the son of Nicholaus and Verona Christy Bokone.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

James retired from Copperweld Steel Co. in 1987. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

James' wife, Ann M. Santine Bokone, whom he married Oct. 28, 1955, passed away March 16, 2008.

James leaves three daughters, Jeanne M. (James) Wall of Warren, Mary Ann (Dean) Martin of Warren and Linda M. (Mike) Augustine of Warren; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by three brothers, Alex, Stephen and John Bokone; and two sisters, Irene Tulanko and Elizabeth Caroots.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church preceded by a 10 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Howland Township Cemetery.
