Obituary

Dunedin, FL – James C. Tsagaris, 72, of Dunedin, Florida and formerly of Warren, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Jim was born on September 9, 1953 in Athens, Greece, a son of the late Kostantinos "Gust" and Maria Tsagaris.

In 1961, at the age of eight, Jim came to the United States with his family, settling in Warren. He was a 1972 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and later attended Bowling Green University and was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.

In 1977, Jim moved to Dunedin, Florida, where he led a very active life. He was an owner and instructor at a Taekwondo School, something for which he had a great passion. Even after his departure from the Taekwondo profession, he loved teaching his great nieces and nephews the art of Taekwondo. After Taekwondo, he was an avid Day Stock Trader and loved watching the stock market numbers. Jim also enjoyed the opportunity to travel. Because of his Taekwondo work, he travelled to Singapore and also enjoyed trips to other countries, such as Russia and his native country of Greece. He was very educated on other countries and their government.

Jim was a passionate Ohio State Fan and loved animals, especially dogs. He devoted many years to fostering dogs until their adoption. Jim eventually rescued his loyal companion, Gino, who will miss him dearly. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, FL. Most of all, Jim cherished the opportunity to be around family and friends. He was humble in taking care of his parents in the final years and was also looking out for family by making sure they had everything organized. Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim will always be remembered by his sister, Elenie (Dimitrios) Mantos of Warren; nieces, Mary Lyn (James) McNally of Warren, Amanda (Michael) Hilas of Warren and Agapi (Adam) Tzagournis of Cleveland; great nieces and nephews Demetria, Elenie, Andonia, Niko, Dimitrios and Dialechti; aunt, Angeliki Boukouvalas of Athens, Greece and many loved cousins and friends.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Jim on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 10 to 11am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St NE, Warren, OH 44481.

A Funeral Service will follow at the church on Tuesday at 11am with Rev. Constantine Valantasis and Rev. Demetrios Constantine presiding.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
