Howland - John P. Kondolios, 84, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1929, in Fyta Chios, Greece, the son of Panayiotis and Eugenia Kondolios. John came to Warren in 1957. He retired in 2002 from the Lordstown GM Assembly Plant in the maintenance department as a painter after 29 years. He previously worked at Van Huffle Tube. John was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Chios Society, and the Fyta Society. He enjoyed gardening and helping others and was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan. John served in the Greek Military Army. He is survived by his wife Catherine "Katina" Kondolios whom he married April 20, 1958, two children Peter J. Kondolios of Howland and Evelyn (Gus) Killias of Howland, granddaughter Chrysafina Killias, a brother Vasili Kondolios of College Point, NY., a sister Kalliope Katos of Astoria, NY, sister-in-laws Kalliope Kondolios and Filio Maligas, brother-in-laws George and Manuel Maligas, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded death by his parents, a brother Elias "Louie" Kondolios and four sisters Angela Condoleon, Kiriaki Pyrogousis, Eleni Liakaris and Despina Gatanas. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 3:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. Service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
