Obituary

John Teresko, 80, of Greene, passed away peacefully at 10:35 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 atCortland Health Care Center.
Born May 2, 1933 in New Lyme, Ohio, John was the son of the late Alexander and Anastasia (Romanovich) Teresko and moved to Greene as a child.
John worked for over 50 years at Industry Week and its predecessor Steel Magazine retiring as senior technology editor.  During his career, John received numerous awards.  In 2010, he was inducted into the Press Club of Cleveland Hall of Fame.
He was a member of the Press Club of Cleveland, The American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society of Professional Journalists.  He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed photography and gardening.
John was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Warren.
John is survived by a brother William Teresko of Hinckley, Ohio and a sister Rose Kazik of Garfield Heights and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers Alexander Teresko, killed in action during WWII, Steve and Simon Teresko and a sister Sophie Bland.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, where a Parastas service will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service, with Fr. Jonathan Cholcher officiating, will take place on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, where the body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery Annex in Greene, Ohio.
