Warren - Joseph M. "Joe" Ratell, 90, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at Community Skilled Healthcare Center. Joe was born April 28, 1923 in Warren, Ohio the son of Joseph E. and Anna Ratell. Joe retired in 1985 from GM Fisher Body Plant in Lordstown as an Electrician after 15 years. He previously had worked at Wean Manufacturing. Joe was of the Methodist Faith. Joe served with the CCC and the National Guard. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, woodworking and fixing things. He is survived by a daughter Gloria (Jim) Pillar of Warren, five grandchildren Carolyn DeJacimo of Oakatie, SC., James Pillar, Jr. of Sylvania, OH., Deborah (Chris) Gregor of Bonner Springs, KS., Benjamin (Megan) Ratell of Indianapolis, IN., and Lillian Ratell of Seattle, WA., two great grandchildren Josie and Camryn Pillar, a brother David Ratell of Newton Falls and four sisters Gertie (Duane) Granger of Warren, Donnabelle Beleny of Parma, June Porta of Warren and Joann Erickson of Warren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Ratell whom he married August 31, 1944 and passed away February 3, 2009, two sons Joseph, Jr. and Robert M. Ratell and two sisters Evelyn Humphrey and Lillian Haughton. Family and friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, Ohio.
