Obituary

Joseph Molnar, 95, of Warren, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 1:13 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland.

Mr. Molnar was born on December 16, 1917 in Vintondale, Pennsylvania the son of the late John and Mary (Kovach) Molnar.

After graduating from Homer City High School in Pennsylvania, Joe served his country abroad in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Molnar served with the Battery A 8 Field Artillery Observation Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. For his heroism and bravery, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 8, 1945

After returning from the war, Joe worked for Wean United as a drill press operator retiring in August of 1981.

Mr. Molnar was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling, gardening and hunting.

Joe married his first wife the former Livia R. Luscia on June 28, 1947 and they were married for 18 years until her passing on February 2, 1965. Joe married his second wife the former Marjorie Noble on October 16, 1971 and they were married for 35 years until her passing on January 2, 2006.

Mr. Molnar is survived four children Joseph Molnar of Howland; Mary Jo (James) Lytle of Cortland; Livia (Graham) Hazlette of Gaffney, SC; Frances Spain of Warren; four step children David (Barbara) Noble of Dayton; Ronald (Shirley) Noble of Tucson; Keith (Nanette) Noble of Tucson and Betty Celedonia of Wewahitchka, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joe was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, 3 brothers and a grandson.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Andrew Deskevich officiating preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for church.

Burial will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Joe's name to Trumbull Mobile Meals 323 E. Market St. Warren, Ohio 44481.
