Obituary

Joseph F. Zipnock Jr, 77, of Warren Twp., passed away at 6:49 a.m. in his home following a long illness.

Born June 27, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant Township, Pennslylvania, Joe was the son of the late Joseph F. and Mary D. (Konitsney) Zipnock Sr.

Joe was proud of his Polish heritage and was a member of the former St. Pius X Catholic Church in Warren.

Joe worked as a formen for over 34 years with the former US Gypsem Company. Along with working at US Gypsem, Joe was a self employed handiman for many friends and businesses. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan and loved his farm animals.

Joe will be sadly missed by his wife the former Judith A. Hudson, whom he married on February 19, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, and together they shared the love of three children, Susan (Wayne) Hosburgh of Melbourne, FL, Joseph F. Zipnock III of Austintown and David (the late Cynda) Zipnock of Leavittsburg; eight grandchildren Traci Gillespie, Kristin Papp, Joseph F. Zipnock IV, Michael Dobos III, Brittany and Lauren Garcia, Melyssa Leonard and Justin Zipnock; twenty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Joe was also survived by a sister Dolores Cash of Warren and his special companion of 10 years, his pug, Missy.

Besides his parents and daughter-in-law, Joe was preceded in death by a two great great granddaughters Marina and Ciera; a brother William Zipnock and a sister Florence Wilson.

Calling hours will take on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 5 until 8 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Thursday with the Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating in Blessed John Paul II Parish, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:20 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.

Entombment will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Joe's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
