Warren - Josephine M. Carillio, 88, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Windsor House in Champion surrounded by her family. She was born February 13, 1926 in St. Augustine, FL. the daughter of the late Leonardo V. and Cora Rollings Dicandio Sr. Josephine moved to Warren in 1950 with her brother Lewis. She was a homemaker and previously worked as a nurse's aid in St. Augustine, FL and at Mullins Manufacturing in Warren. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. Josephine enjoyed being with her family and traveling. She especially enjoyed attending Mass at various Catholic Churches here and around the world. She is survived by her three children Mary Anne (James) Kale of Warren, Gerard "Jerry" Carillio of Marysville, WA. and Joseph A. (Karen) Carillio of Warren, four grandchildren Darrell, Cori, Patrick and Gianna, three brothers Michaelo "Mike" (Shirley) DiCandio of Coco Beach, FL, Leonardo V. (June) DiCandio, Jr. of Stark, FL, and Joseph P. (Lynda) DiCandio of Tellico Plains, TN, two sisters Selma Jones of Winter Haven, FL, and Virginia Jones of Tampa, FL, a brother-in-law Joseph Carillio of Fowler, OH a sister-in-law Audrey Nelson of Lake City, FL and all of her beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her step mother, Margaret Higgenbotham Dicandio, husband Andrew P. "Andy" Carillio who she married November 15, 1952 and who passed away February 3, 2008, two brothers, Lewis A. Rogers and James E. Nelson, six sisters, Addie Reynolds, Mary Geiger, Bertia Owens Faircloth, Angelina Eddings, Millie Rose Dicandio, and Thelma Denmark, and sister-in-law Helene K. Rogers. Family and Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Josephine's name to St. Mary's Church, 232 Seneca St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44481. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Alzheimer's unit at Windsor House Champion for their compassion and dedication to all those in their care.
