Imperial, PA. - Katherine Georges, 83, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at her daughter's home. She is the beloved wife of the late Michael Georges, married 62 years at the time of his passing. She was born July 12, 1930 in Canonsburg, PA., the daughter of Nick and Penelope Diakakis. Katherine is survived by her son, George M. (Arnette) and Pamela (Nick) Volakis both of the Pittsburgh area; six grandchildren; a brother Tony Diakakis of Canonsburg, Pa. She is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Carrie Conis and Marsha Stamatakis. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, Yasou Club, Philoptochos Society, Daughters of Penelope and the Church Choir. Katherine cherished her church, family and wonderful friends. She was an avid baker and artist. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a Trisagion Service at 6 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. Additional visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St., Warren, OH 44481.
