Warren – Katherine (Papalas) Kotasek, 93, passed away quietly Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Community Skilled Nursing Home.

Katherine also known as "Nina" will be greatly missed and forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother friend and avid cat lover. Katherine would turn birthdays into birth weeks for her daughter Jennifer and make each day unique and special.

She was born February 14, 1924, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Stephen J. and Argyre Papalas.

She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She had previously worked at Ohio Lamp Division G.E.  and the Tribune Chronicle. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and Knitting.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Brian) Martinek of Warren three grandchildren Deena (Jarreau) Gaines (U.S. Navy), Jaime and Erika Martinek, two great grandchildren Blayne and Alivyah Kuehm, a brother Anthony "Tony" (Eleanor) Papalas of Allen Park, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence "Larry" Kotasek who passed away February 4, 1970, grandson Justin Kuehm (U.S Air Force March 2016), eight brothers who worshiped her Elias, John, Gus, Nick, George, Alex, Marino, William "Binky" Papalas, and a sister Mary Foundoulis.

Family and friends may call Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A service will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery in Warren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church 232 Seneca St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44481.
