Katherine "Kay" M. Roscoe, 87, of Howland, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014 at Signature Care Center in Warren following a long illness.
Born in Boberka, Poland on March 13, 1926, Kay was the daughter of the Charles and Anna Fedash Sirko.
Kay was an active member of Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and the St. Benedict Auxiliary and was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She bowled for many years on the SS. Peter & Paul Bowling League and held office of league secretary. She was also an avid traveler.
Kay retired from St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and School where she was the school and church secretary for over 35 years. After retiring from the church, Kay worked for three years as a secretary for Warren General Health Foundation.
She was married on January 31, 1948 to Edward J. Roscoe and they were married for 37 years until his passing on January 2, 1983.
Kay leaves her loving family, two children Edward C. (Dianne) Roscoe of Howland and Janice (Ralph) Setting of Howland; one sister Mary Craciun of Howland, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Sutch, Matthew (fiancée Lauren Jacobs) Roscoe, Nicholas (Anne Marie) Setting, Carrie (Josh) Trebus and David Setting; and three great-grandsons, Bryson Trebus, Max Sutch and Ryan Sutch.
In addition to her husband and parents, Kay was preceded in death by a sister, Fannie Begalla and infant brothers.
Calling hours will take place Wednesday May 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service with Rev. Kevin Marks will be offered at 11:00 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 10:20 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.
Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Lordstown.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may be made to Sts Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
