Laura L. Pernice

WARREN - Laura L. Pernice, 73, passed away on October 16, 2026, at Gillette Nursing Home.

Born on September 27, 1953, in Fairmont, WV, the daughter of the late Eugene and Frankie Stonebraker Higinbotham.

She worked for many years as a cashier at Home Depot, where her steady presence and hard work were part of her daily life. She also enjoyed baking, a pastime that brought comfort and happiness to those around her. Laura spent 25 years in Palm Harbor, Florida, before returning home, carrying with her the experiences and memories of those years.

Above all, Laura will be remembered by those who knew and loved her most. She is survived by her son, Shayne Pernice; step-son Joe (Theresa) Pernice, and step-daughter, Teresa Young. She is also survived by her sister, Melia Kripchak; sister-in-law, Brenda Higinbotham and by her very close cousin, Connie Littell, whose special bond with Laura was an important part of her life.

Laura was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph C. Higinbotham and Randy Higinbotham.

There will be a private memorial service held for Laura at a later time.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel.
