Cortland - Lucille H. McAdoo returned to the Lord after 94 years on February 7, 2015. She loved life and fought a great battle these last several years. She will be missed by her family and friends. Lucille was born August 26, 1920, in Warren, Ohio the daughter of the late Joseph "Carmen" Liberatore and Elizabeth "Carmello" (Carano) Liberatore. She married James W. McAdoo on December 23, 1944 and they celebrated 66 years of marriage prior to his death on January 7, 2010. Lucille graduated from Leavittsburg High School and attended Warren Business College and the International Business Machine School in Youngstown. She worked at American Welding for 30 years in the payroll and accounts payable department before retiring in 1982. Lucille was an active member of Gulf View Colony Community in Fort Myers Beach FL., for 21 years and was a board secretary/treasurer for many years. She enjoyed walking on the beach, playing shuffleboard and bridge with friends from the Community. She was a member of St. Pius X Church. Lucille is survived by a daughter, Mara E. (Kenneth J.) Wareham of Apopka Fl.; two sons Raymond J. "Ray" (Susan) McAdoo of Champion and Jeffrey (Sue) McAdoo M.D., of Athens, OH, two brothers Eugene (Doris) Liberatore of Sarasota, FL. and Louis Liberatore of Warren; four grandchildren John Patrick Cuckovich, Benjamin and Renae McAdoo and Jessica Schilling, and two great grandsons Ezra and Connor. Besides her parents and husband James W. McAdoo she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary L. Crognale, Josephine L. Pucevich and Angela M. Fuller. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Roberts Bellermine Church in Cortland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Robert Bellermine Church with Rev. Carl Kish officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. Arrangements are being handled by the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
