Cortland - Luis R. Santiago Sr., 84, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born January 15, 1932, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Luis A. Rivera and Maria Santiago. He came to the U.S.A. in 1949 and came to the Warren area in 1955. He retired in 1997 from LTV Steel as a roller after 30 years. Luis was a member of St. Robert Church in Cortland. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering, sports and was an avid Yankee fan. He is survived by his children Luis R. (Cathy) Santiago Jr. of Cortland, Carmen (Bill) Irvin of Cortland, Mary Ann Kellerman of Cortland, Betty Davis of Cortland, Joseph Newton of Niles and Frank Newton of Cortland, twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, brothers Manuel, Luis, Americo Rivera, a sister Mara Rivera of Puerto Rico, and a sister-in-law Tomasine (Jerry) Mauger of Cortland. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary T. Pishotti whom he married December 24, 1955, and passed away May 7, 2000, and a brother Bernardo Santiago. Family and friends may call Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE Warren, Ohio 44483. A service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral home with Rev. John R. Lody officiating.
