Obituary

Lynda L. Grove, 67, of Farmdale, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 3:35 p.m. in the intensive care unit at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh with her loving family by her side.

Lynda was born on November 29, 1949 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Edward R. and Irene Turjanica Brienz Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1967 graduate of Chaney High School, Lynda attended Youngstown State University, where she received her Bachelor' Degree and Master's Degree in Education.

Lynda followed in her father's footsteps by having a passion for teaching.  She taught for 42 years with the Howland Local Schools.  Lynda first began teaching 4 th grade at Glenn Primary School and then continued teaching 4 th grade at H.C. Mines in Howland, where she retired in 2013.

Lynda was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Ohio Education Association, North Eastern Ohio Education Association and the Howland Retired Teachers.  She was also a member of the Trumbull New Theatre.  Lynda was a certified Paramedic and was also an EMT instructor for many years belonging to the Johnston Township Volunteer Fire Department.  She was also a lifeguard on the Ohio side of Pymatuning State Park.  Lynda enjoyed traveling abroad, doing ceramics and belonged to a ceramics club.  She also enjoyed china painting and making dolls with her mother, Irene.

Lynda was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren and was a member of its Altar & Rosary Society.  She was also a member of the St. Benedictine Auxiliary of the Benedictine Monastery at SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.  Lynda also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McDonald, where her brother is Pastor.

Lynda will be deeply missed by her loving family, her husband of 37 years George Allen Grove, whom she married on June 23, 1979; two daughters Sarah (Michael) Muccio of Clinton, NY and Rebecca (Robert) Riley of Norfolk, VA; her siblings, Dr. Deborah Brienz of Duncan, British Columbia; Fr. Edward R. Brienz Jr., Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McDonald, and Veronica Barker of Los Angeles; and two grandsons Michael "Tony" Riley and Edward "E.T." Muccio.  She is also survived by her mother-in-law Martha L. Saltzmann Grove and brothers-in-law Ted (Carol) Grove, Richard "Rick" (Sharon) Grove, Ronald (Cindy) Grove and James (JoAnn) Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Besides her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her father-in-law George E. Grove and sister-in-law Gerry George.

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home where a Panachida Service, with Fr. Simeon B. Sibenik pastor of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, will be recited at 3:00 p.m. followed by the recitation of the rosary at 3:30 p.m.by the Ladies of the St. Benedictine Auxiliary.

A Mass of Christian Burial, with Fr. Edward R. Brienz Jr. officiating along with fellow Priests of the Diocese concelebrating, will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 618 Ohio Ave, McDonald, Ohio 44437, where the body will lie in state from 9:20 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will take place in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Warren.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Lynda's name to American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, Illinois 60693.
