Mara I. Perrino

WARREN - Mara Isabella Perrino, 89, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at the Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Mara was born on April 18, 1937, in Italy, the daughter of Elsa Ciarolla Collechi and Policleto Collechi. Born in Roccaraso, Italy, Mara was a refugee of World War II who came to America at the age of 17 in 1954. Shortly after, she proudly became a United States citizen. From a young age, Mara was a hard worker. At 18, she began working at Packard Electric, where she remained for several years before leaving to devote herself to raising her family.

Mara enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved bowling, bocce, cooking, baking, playing cards, sewing, and gardening. She took great pride in her work as a seamstress and was always happy to pass her knowledge and skills on to others.

Family was always at the center of Mara’s life. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother (“Nonna”), sister, and friend who loved her family more than anything. She never missed her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and cherished every opportunity to be together. She especially loved hosting holidays and Sunday dinners with her kids and grandkids, filling her home with food, laughter, and love. Mara was also known for her quick wit, her sense of humor, and the stories she loved to tell about her childhood and growing up in Italy.

Mara’s family was her greatest accomplishment and her greatest joy. She taught them the importance of family, hard work, generosity, laughter, and making the most of every moment. She will be missed by so many and her memory will live on in the traditions she created, the lessons she passed down, the stories that will continue to be told, and most of all, in the hearts of the many people who were lucky enough to call her Mom, Nonna, sister, or friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Perrino, who died November 17, 2022.

Mara is survived by her three sons, Nicholas (Jenny) Perrino, Michael (Patty) Perrino, and Joseph (Pam) Perrino; and by her daughter, Nancy (Bill) Termine. She also leaves nine grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Samantha Perrino, Nicholas (Catherine) Perrino, Leah (Sam) Rylance, Erik Perrino, Courtney Deidrick, Mikaela (Emma) Perrino, Domenic (Reanna) Termine, Sophia Termine (Andrew Jones), and Mario Perrino (Brittany Cummings). She also leaves behind three great grandchildren: Aurellio “Ollie”, Santino, and Givoanni.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Rd NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. A prayer service will begin at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish - St. Mary Church, 301 High Street Northeast, Warren, Ohio 44481.
