Warren - Marian R. Sample, 98, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Windsor House in Champion. She was born March 27, 1916 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Joseph and Tresa Smith. She was a 1935 graduate of Peabody High School in Pittsburg and also attended the Warren Business Collage. Marian moved to Warren in 1940 from Pennsylvania and retired in 1978 from Carlie's in sales after 18 years. She had formally worked at the Ohio Lamp Division of GE for eight years. She was a member of the Second Christian Church in Warren. She also enjoyed doing volunteer work at the YWCA, St. Joseph Hospital for ten years and the American Red Cross for twenty years as a receptionist retiring in 2000. She and her husband enjoyed boating and traveling out of the country. She is survived by her two sons Roger (Jo-Ann) Sample of Howland and Bruce (Regenna) Sample of Southington, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents husband Chester "Chet" Sample whom she married July 20, 1946, and three sisters Ann Prox Martha Kovach and Elizabeth Barbe.
