Warren - Marie Martini, 93, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Gillette Nursing Home. Marie was Born May 14, 1921 in Linciano, Italy the daughter of the late Nick and Rita DeFabio. Marie came to this country in 1929. In the early years she worked for JC Penny before marrying her husband Eraldo on June 12, 1943 and who passed away July 26, 1988. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Warren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and being active and independent. Marie was an avid sports fan her whole life following the Indians, Browns, The OSU and Notre Dame. Her and her husband hardly missed Warren G. Harding High School Friday night football games home and away. She also loved playing cards and was an active bowler for years with Blessed Sacrament and Senior League in Warren where she received several 200 game pins. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Amerital Club where she also enjoyed dancing. She is survived by her son Gerald "Jerry" (Diane) Martini of Warren, three grandchildren Denise (Bryan) Thomas of Champion and Stacy (Kris) Kunkel of Euless, TX, and Steven Clementi of Southington and three great grandchildren Brittany, Bradley, and Samantha. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Eraldo "Marty" Martini Jr. and a sister Eva Tullio. Family and friends may call Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Warren with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Warren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Marie's name to Crossroads Hospice 9775 Rockside Road, Suite 270, Valley View, Ohio 44125.
