Marie (Kalman)
Szepietowski
January 19, 1918 – April 25, 2015
Marie Szepietowski, 97, of Howland and formerly of Cortland, entered into eternal life on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 7:45 a.m. in the emergency room at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Marie was born on January 19, 1918 in Manistee, Michigan the daughter of the late Adam and Helen (Witucki) Kalman.
A homemaker, Mrs. Szepietowski was a charter member of the Camillus program at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was instrumental in its development and served faithly as a member for many years. In honor of her service she received the Msgr. John J. Lettau award for excellence in Pastoral Care-Friend and Servant of the sick and suffering on October 4, 1996.
Mrs. Szepietowski was a member of St. John Paul II Parish on North Street in Warren, where she served at Eucharistic Minister. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan; and most especially she loved and enjoyed her children and loved being a grandmother. She unselfishly lived her faith in service to others.
Marie was married on January 11, 1941 to Stanley J. Szepietowski Sr. and they were married for 39 years until his passing on November 27, 1980. Together they shared the love of seven children Stanley (Debra) Szepietowski Jr. of Cortland, Philip (Cathy) Szepietowski of Cortland, David (Nancy) Szepietowski of Canal Fulton, Joyce Weyant of Cortland, Sandra (Steve) Lamantia of Howland Township, Teresa (Jeff) Parry of Champion and Carol (Ron) Coberly of North Bend, Oregon; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Delores (Al) Crockett of Howland and a brother Arthur (Rosemarie) Kalman of Howland.
Besides her parents and husband, Stan, Marie was preceded in death by a son-in-law John Weyant; a granddaughter Beth Coberly; two brothers Ted and Leonard Kalman and a sister Bernadine Snowberger.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, where closing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Paul II Parish in Warren with Fr. Christopher Henyk officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Champion.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mrs. Szepietowski's name be made to the Camillus Fund at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
