WARREN – Marija Sinanovic, 87, of Warren, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, July 22, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland, surrounded by her family.
Marija was born on May 11, 1939, in Bitola, Macedonia (formerly Yugoslavia), the daughter of the late Boris and Fania (Sarievska) Nikolovski. In 1984 she immigrated to Warren, Ohio, with her family. She and her family were members of St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church.
Marija was funny, witty, caring, and kind, with a strength that touched everyone around her. She was proud of her Macedonian heritage and looked forward to her trips back to Bitola to visit family, and she loved watching her Yugoslavian television programs. She and her husband, Jugoslav, loved to dance, and their marriage of 63 years was a true example of lasting love.
Above all else, Marija cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were the center of her world and the greatest blessing of her life. She was always in the kitchen, cooking traditional Macedonian dishes and bringing her family together around the table. Her recipes, and her cooking, will be remembered by everyone who knew her.
Marija leaves to cherish her memory her son, Antonio Sinanovic (Valentina) of Cortland; her daughters, Lence Hristovska (Rade) of Bitola, Macedonia, and Juliana Dejanovic (Ljubomir) of Warren; her grandchildren, Sanja Mattern (Samuel), Sladjana Hristovska, Dina Dejanovic, Marjan Hristovski, Ratko Sinanovic, Aleksandar Sinanovic, Kristian Dejanovic, and Gabriel Dejanovic; her great-grandchildren, Stefan and Maja Mattern; her brother, Spiro Nikolovski; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Besides her parents, Marija was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jugoslav Sinanovic; her sister, Cena; her brothers, Tome and Blaze; and her sisters-in-law, Mileva Nikolis and Polikseni Ilievski.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Old Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 420 N. Raccoon Road, Austintown, Ohio 44515.
A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon at the church, with burial to follow at Belmont Park Cemetery.
The family thanks all who have offered love, prayers, and support during this time.
