Mario Massaro- 85, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Mario was born in Fagnano Alto L'Aquila, Italy son of Fabio and Filomena Massaro, where he attended Salesiani San Giovanni Bosco Institute L'Aquila, Italy. Mario came toWarren, Ohio in 1944. Mario Massaro served in the United States Armed Forces Army, awarded National Defense Service Medal. Retired from Copperweld Steel Corp after 33 years of service. Mario and his wife Connie owned and operated Massaro's Village Pizza & Catering in Warren and Lordstown, was a member of St. Pius X and St. Mary's Church, K of C 4484, and St. Pius X Church Choir. Mario enjoyed traveling, to Italy visiting family and friends, enjoyed singing, dancing, Italian Music and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mario Massaro is survived by his loving wife Connie Massaro, five children Mario Massaro of Brecksville, Phyllis Ann Richards of Canton, Dr.Dean (Beth) Massaro of Howland, Mary Grace (Dr. Mark) Sobel of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, and Doreen (David) Riser of Ada, MI. Eight grandchildren Phillip, Jay, Michael, David, Daniel, Deanna, Grace, Lia; two sisters Anna Cesta of Champion and Minnie Cesta of Howland, a brother Ugo (Gulia) Massaro of L'Aquila, Italy. Mario Massaro is preceded in death by parents and in-laws Luigi and Mary Grace Scarsella, one brother Cesidio "Jesse"Massaro., son-in-law John J. Richards, and grandson Mark Sobel, Jr. Family and friends may call Friday, June 7 from 4:00- 7:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00-9:30 a.m at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
