Warren – Mark David Thigpen, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 31, 1968, in Warren, Ohio the son of Emma Jean Thigpen and the late Ray Lee Thigpen.
He was a 1986 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and the University of Toledo graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He was presently a Captain at the Warren Fire Department. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish.
Mark is survived by his mother, Emma, his sons Mason, Preston, Bryson, Kenton and a daughter McKinsey. Sister Anna Marie (Tom) Klejka, two brothers Albert Ray (Monica) Thigpen and Michael Todd (Ann Marie) Thigpen. He also leaves three aunts Mary Louise Spain, Dee Dee (Roger) Hall and Anna Marie (Richard) Pinti, nieces: Nicole Klejka, Carla Thigpen, Alaina Thigpen, Caitlin Thigpen, Mariah Thigpen, Emily Perkins and Alison Perkins, nephews Alex Klejka and Noah Thigpen, and many friends and cousins who loved him including his best friend Frank DelGarbino.
He is preceded in death by his father Ray, who passed away on May 11, 2012, maternal grandparents Henry and Sophia DeSantis and paternal grandparents Ray and Betty Thigpen.
Mark was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan and enjoyed collecting sport memorabilia. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, but most of all he loved spending time with family and his boys. The boys where his pride and joy and he loved Mason, Preston, Bryson and Kenton with all of his heart.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many friends and family members who have provided a comforting presence and an outpouring of compassion during our time of grief. Mark will always be remembered for his loving heart, his passion for life, beautiful smile and love of faith, family and friends.
Family and friends may call Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 8, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE Warren, Ohio 44483.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Parish in Warren, with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating.
Burial will be in all Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all who knew Mark personally, and knew how kind his heart was to please do one kind deed for someone who may be suffering.
