Mary Ann Spain, 83, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and sister-in-law, entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Mary Ann was born on January 26, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, the oldest child of Harold and Florence Nevin. She lived the majority of her childhood in Niles, Ohio and graduated from Niles High School in 1960.

Mary Ann married the love of her life, John Spain, in 1964 and they shared 60 wonderful years together prior to John’s passing in 2025. They also had two loving sons, Michael (Paula) of Warren, Ohio and Mark of Cortland, Ohio. Mary Ann was the very proud Nana of Michael’s two sons, Tyler and Jacob.

Besides her two sons and two grandsons, Mary Ann leaves behind a wonderful sister, Betty (Frank) Lukz of Columbus, Ohio. Mary Ann also leaves behind several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mary (Earnie) Nicholas of College Station, Texas, JoAnn (Bob) Price of Burton, Ohio, Sam Crank of Niles, Ohio, and Linda Spain of Warren, Ohio.

Mary Ann spent 17 years as an executive secretary, most notably in the Trumbull County Commissioners office working with the commissioners to make Trumbull County a better place.

Mary Ann was a devoted and long-time member of Saint Pope John XXIII Parish (formerly Mt. Carmel). She particularly loved going to the Mt. Carmel festival in July each year to enjoy the company of friends and also, of course, those wonderful cheese puffs.

To our friends and family, thank you for all of the breakfasts, lunches, dinners, hugs, and prayers. We are eternally grateful to all of you.

Calling hours will be from 9:00am-10:30am on June 22, 2026, at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel. There will be a mass at Saint Pope John XXIII Parish - Mount Carmel Church at 11:00am and a burial service in the City of Niles Cemetery following the mass.
