Mary Rose Metro, 101 of Warren, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 9:20 a.m. in Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles, under the care of Hospice

Mrs. Metro was born March 26, 1913 in Yukon, PA, the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Zahuransky) Capak.

A homemaker, Mrs. Metro was of the catholic faith and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking, golfing and playing cards.

Mary was married on July 25, 1931 to George Metro and they were married for 64 years until his passing on September 12, 1995.

Mrs. Metro is survived by three daughters Martha Peters of Champion, Mary Ann Metro of Columbus and Patricia DeCavitch of Warren with whom she made her home; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Metro was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. in the church.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 1234 High St. Warren, Ohio 44483, with Fr. James P. Walker officiating.

Burial will take place in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mrs. Metro's name to the Lazarus Fund of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 185 Laird Ave, Warren, Ohio 44483.
