Obituary

Mary Ann J. Kaszowski, 78, of Warren, entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 11:52 a.m.  in her home with her loving family by her side, after a courageous seven month battle with metastatic lung cancer while under the comforting care of Hospice.

Mary Ann was born on February 3, 1936 in Warren, the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Shimko) LaBanc Sr and was a lifelong area resident.

A 1954 January graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Mary Ann was mostly a homemaker.  For a short time before marrying, she worked in the billing office at St. Joseph Riverside Hospital.  For the last eight years, Mary Ann worked alongside her grandson, Justin, as a funeral associate with the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, where she became friends with many area clergy and funeral professionals.

Mary Ann was devoted to the Blessed Mother.  During her illness, she prayed relentlessly to her for comfort and support and in her final days, she rested comfortably under her prayers and devotion.  She was a faithful and devoted catholic and a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Warren, where she served as sacristan for many years and was a Sunday morning greeter.  Mary Ann was also a faithful member of the Sunday morning Rosary group and pirohy volunteer for many years at the church.  She was also a member of the SS. Cyril & Methodius 300 Club and 50 +Club of the church, and a member of the Blessed Sacrament Tuesday Morning Ladies Bowling League at Echo Lanes where she held the office of Vice President.

Mary Ann enjoyed doing yard work and bowling.  Mary Ann also enjoyed polka dancing with her husband, Stan.  For many years, they would frequent the Old Polish Village in Orwell to polka dance Saturday evenings with their friends that they met through dancing.  She also looked forward to Friday evening dinner dates with her sister, Dorothy.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as Baba.

Mary Ann was married on June 25, 1955 to Stanley J. Kaszowski and they were married for 48 years until his passing on April 23, 2004.

She is survived by five children; Catherine M. (Thomas) Ponikvar of Grandview, Carolyn A. (Vince) Engen of Aurora, Illinois, Stanley R. (Rebecca) Kaszowski of Howland, Robert M. Kaszowski, Sr. of Bazetta; Patricia A. (Todd) Mobley of Niles; her sister, Dorothy A. Marchio of Howland; nine grandchildren Louis G. Kostelaz III, Jessica L. Moore, Justin R.
