WARREN - Mary Agnes Kalafsky, 88, of Warren, died Sunday, New Year's Day 2012 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born July 18, 1923, in Luxor, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Papcun Kalafsky.
She lived in Warren since 1925, moving from Newton Falls. Mary graduated from Warren G. Harding in the class of 1941.
Mary worked for General Motors-Packard Dana Street division as a payroll clerk and retired in 1985 after working for more than 40 years.
Being known as a humorous person, Mary loved sharing a new joke or story. Crossword puzzles were a daily "to-do." Bridge, knitting, crocheting, crafts and the Cleveland Indians were lifelong interests.
Mary was a member of St. Mary Church in Warren, the Fifth Wheel Club, Tops Club, SS. Cyril and Methodius Church 50+ Club and the First Catholic Slovak Union No. 784 of Warren.
Mary is survived by her niece, Janet H. (Geo. Larry) Dubasik of Cortland; nephew, William M. (Gretchen) Hrusovsky of Cortland; great-nieces, Amy (Aaron) Lint, Elizabeth DiBattiste and Josellen Hrusovsky; great-nephews, Brian (Melanie) Dubasik and William R. Hrusovsky; great-great-nieces, Ashleigh, Chloe and Ellie Dubasik; and great-great-nephews Oscar and Emerson Lint and Christian Henik.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John Kalafsky; two sisters, Elizabeth Hrusovsky and Ann Shepard; nephew, Robert Hrusovsky; and great-great-nephew Cole Christian Dubasik.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, also at the funeral home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at St. Mary Church preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Church or the donor's favorite charity.
