Champion - Mary "Josephine" Nicopolis, 90, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. Josephine was born November 4, 1923 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Guy and Raefale Capito. Josephine was co-owner with her husband of Guy's Place on W. Market St. for 35 years. She was a life long member of Christ our King Church. She enjoyed reading, music, cooking and was well known for her Sunday dinners with her homemade sauce and lemon chicken. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Josephine was kind-hearted and generous; always helping others without expecting anything in return. She, with her devoted husband Ted, raised two wonderful sons, who went on to become loving husbands, fathers, uncles, grandfathers and friends. They, along with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, are her legacy. She is survived by her son Terry T. (Debra) Nicopolis of Champion, daughter-in-law Sharon Nicopolis of Champion, two granddaughters Michelle L.(Michael Gallagher) Nicopolis PhD of Strongsville and Bernadette L. Nicopolis of Champion, two great grandchildren Gregory Michael Papp, Jr. and Brooke Makynna Papp, and sister Anna Marie Pecorelli of Warren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Theodore "Ted" Nicopolis Sr., whom she married July 20, 1944 and passed away November 20, 2006, son Theodore "Ted" Nicopolis Jr., brothers Gregory D. Capito and Guy J. "Pint" Capito, and sisters Gloria Young and Antonette "Toni" Capito. Family and friends may call on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 9:00 am to 12 noon at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A service will be held immediately following calling hours at the funeral home, with Rev. Carl Kish officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland, Ohio.
