(Zaruba) Minarish
January 10, 1928 – April 25, 2017
Mary Z. Minarish, 89, of Hudson and formerly of Champion, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 1:27 p.m. at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice Care Center in Fairlawn.
Mary was born on January 10, 1928 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Panteley and Vera Rizzo Zaruba and was raised in the Orthodox Church.
A homemaker, Mary enjoyed gardening and canning and spent endless hours crocheting.
Mary was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren.
Mary was married on September 3, 1963 to Sylvester "Sy" Minarish and they were married for 47 years until his passing on March 9, 2011.
Memories of Mary will be cherished by her two children Karen (Patrick) Meehan of Hudson and James "Jim" (Joni) Minarish of Girard; and two grandchildren Kayla and Connor Meehan of Hudson.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a brother Steve Zaruba.
Calling hours will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home, where a Parastas service will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Funeral Services will begin with closing prayers to be recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home and continue at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Simeon B. Sibenik officiating. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
If family and friends desire, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Mary's name to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
