Cortland – Michael J. "Mike" Chizmar, 49, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown from complications from a car accident.

He was born June 9, 1969, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Fred Chizmar and Carol Gombita.

He was a 1987 graduate of Liberty High School, and attended Youngstown State University. He was the owner and operator of K&M Contracting in Vienna for the last 15 years. Michael was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed golfing and had just won a member guest tournament at the club on July 28, 2018, boating and spending time with his family.

Michael served our Country in the U.S. Marines.

He is survived by his wife Maureen "Moe" Chizmar whom he married September 1, 2012, five children Samantha Chizmar of Columbus, Michael Chizmar Jr of Cortland, Alex, Morgan and Jake Rubin all of Cortland, his mother of Youngstown, his father of Boardman, two brothers Thomas "TJ" (Diane) Chizmar of Stow, and Darren Chizmar of Liberty, two sisters Audrey (Larry) Labenz of West Lake, and Kim Bass of Seattle Washington, mother-in-law Lorraine Hughes of Howland, a brother-in-law Patrick (Allyson) Hughes of Boardman, a sister-in-law Colleen (Brian) Greenwood of Cortland, Numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs Athena and Zeus.

He is preceded in death by his Father-in-law John "Jack" Hughes.

Family and friends may pay their respects Today, August 22, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.

A private Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
