Michael J. Williams, 64, of Bristolville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 6:40 a.m. under the comforting care of hospice.

Michael was born in Ravenna, Ohio on October 18, 1952 the son of Gerald and Verlie Hertzog Williams.

Michael retired from WCI Steel where he worked on the railroad.  He was a member of the Westside Maple Leafs and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years the former Mary Maki whom he married on March 3, 1970; his father of Champion; three children Michael S. Williams of Tifton, GA, Jeremy J. Williams of Warren and Lindsey B. Williams of Ormond Beach, Fl; a brother Steven (Diane) Williams of Warren; a sister Amy (Tom) Knowles of Irmo, SC; four grandchildren and two special friends Larry Kuhn and Chuck Reep who were a tremendous help to Mike during his illness.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother Verlie Williams.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Hospice of the Valley for all of their care and support in making Michael's final days comforting and peaceful.

In keeping with Michael's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services observed and a caring cremation will take place under the guidance of the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home.
