Warren - Mike Papadakis, 88, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born September 22, 1925 in Warren, Ohio the son of Thomas and Stamatia Papadakis. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Mike was co-owner of the Dairy Queen on Youngstown Rd. in Warren. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA#88, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry 32nd Mason of the United Supreme Council. He enjoyed cooking and playing cards with his friends. Mike served in the Army Air Corp in WW-II as a tail Gunner on a B-17. He flew 33 missions and received three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal and was a member of "The Lucky Bastard Club". He is survived by his wife Mary Papadakis whom he married April 23, 1950, four children Tom (Sandy) Papadakis of Tarpon Springs, Fl, Stacey Papadakis Richards of Howland, Joanne (Franco) Lucarelli of Warren and Gust Papadakis of Largo, Fl, seven grandchildren Michael, Sara and Andrew Richards, Mary Frances and Shelly Papadakis, and Nico and Gina Lucarelli, one great granddaughter Ava Kelley, a brother Gust T. Papadakis of Warren, two sisters Evelyn Condoleon of Ft. Myers, Fl, and Anne Niarhos of Solon, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sophia Kassos. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. Trisagion Service and a 6:00 p.m. AHEPA Service and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demterios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Constantine Valantasis officiating. Burial will be in Howland Twp. Cemetery with Military Honors.
