Obituary

Howland - Minnie Cesta, 85, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born March 1, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fabio and Filomena Massaro. She came to Warren in 1944 and was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Minnie was co-owner with her husband Nick of Cesta's Pizza and Carry Out on the corner of Mahoning Ave. and Summit for ten years, a restaurant remembered, to this day, for its superior food, pizza and spaghetti sauce. She had previously worked at Ambriola Specialty Store as a sales clerk and the A&P Store on Youngstown Rd. as a cashier. Minnie had a strong faith in God and was a devoted wife and mother. During her adult lifetime, she had many interests, including her love of music and singing. Always physically active, Minnie would walk distances and exercise on her equipment at home. She enjoyed cooking great dinners for her family and her dear friends. Taking an interest in the political matters of the day, she enjoyed engaging those around her in an occasional political discussion. She was a dear mother, and she will be abundantly missed for her kindness and selflessness to many people. Minnie is survived by her daughter Atty. Mary Janet (Atty. David) Mignella of Boardman, a brother Ugo (Julia) Massaro of L'Aquila, Italy, a sister Anna Cesta of Warren, a sister-in-law Connie Massaro of Howland, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Claudio "Nick" Cesta who passed away June 9, 1994, her mother-in-law Maria Cesta who was a second mother to her, and two brothers Mario and Cesidio Massoro. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 to 9;30 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. Bernard Schmalzried, will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, the very same church of which she was a member for over 60 years, and the church at which she was married to her husband Nick. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. Family and friends may visit www.peterrossiandsonfh.com to view this obituary, sign the guest book and send condolences to the Cesta family.
