Warren – Mona Jean Ronquillo, 84, of Warren passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2026 at her home in Warren.

Mona was born on March 30, 1942 in Biloxi, Mississippi, a daughter of the late John and Lydia Ballard.

Mona was strong woman who overcame many odds by graduating nursing school at the age of 43. Despite any hardships she ever faced, she always kept a firm hold of her sense of humor. Mona absolutely loved to laugh, and did so often, right up until days before she passed during her all day and late-night conversations with her daughter Rhonda, who never ran out of ways of making her laugh til she cried.

Mona will always be remembered by her son, Michael McCroy, with whom she made her home and her daughter, Rhonda Duett of Louisiana. She was a loving older sister to her brother, James "Rocky" Ballard, and a second momma to her baby brother Daniel "Danny" Gil. She was also a loving, and proud grandmother who never got tired of hearing all about her grandchildren's lives and accomplishments.

Most importantly, she loved Jesus Christ and would never miss an opportunity to tell you all about Him. This is what she'd want to be remembered for most.
