Warren - Nicholas T. Kapolis, 81, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born December 31, 1933 in Velo, Korinthias, Greece to Athanasios and Vasiliki Papandreou Kapolis. Along with his sister, Katina, he grew up in Velo, Greece during difficult times. Nick came to America in 1952 after being adopted by his aunt and uncle, Frank and Athanasia Kapolis. Nick worked for 28 years at Wean United and then ten years with the City of Warren. Nick married Christina Kantakis on February 7, 1960. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Rita and Thano Kapolis. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Pan-Rhodian Society, YASOU club and the AHEPA Chapter 88. Nick is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Christina, children Rita (Adamantios) Antonas of Akron, Ohio, Thano (Anthie) Kapolis, of Akron, Ohio: sisters Bessie Dascoulias, Esther (Pete) Zarafonitis, and Marina Bartges: grandchildren Alexandra, Costa and Nick Antonas, Kiki, Christina, Niko and Elias Kapolis of Akron, Ohio, a sister-in-law Georgette King of Miami Beach, Florida: a brother-in-law Guste (Kate) Kantakis of Smithers, British Columbia, and nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with 6:00 p.m. Trisagion Service and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. The Service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Costas Valantasis officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery Warren.
