Obituary

Warren - On January 11, 2016, Olga Adams Manus passed into the hands of our Lord. She was 93 years old. Although she was a lifelong resident of Warren, Ohio, she was residing in Vermilion, Ohio with a daughter and son-in-law. She was born Feb. 16, 1922 in Clymer, PA to Mary Marco (Makuch) Adams and Joseph Adams. Olga married George Thomas Manus on Sept. 29, 1946. She graduated from Warren G. Harding in June of 1940 and later in life attended Kent State Trumbull Branch. After high school she worked at Trumbull Memorial and played city league baseball and basketball. Later she worked at Packard Electric where she also played both sports. During WW II, she volunteered for the Red Cross at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Her loves of cooking and baking lead her to employment with Warren City Schools Food Services, but she retired from Warren General Hospital in 1986 as their Head Cook. George and Olga owned Manus Catering in their early retirement years. While members of St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church, Olga served in the Circle of Serbian Orthodox Sisters for many years. She and George were also dedicated members at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngstown where they were married. Both shared in their love of serving the church. Olga was an active member of their Circle of Serbian Orthodox Sisters. Besides cooking and baking for her family and friends, Olga loved spending time creating many kinds of crafts, watching sports, gardening, sewing, reading, and traveling. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by daughters Georgann (Tod) Blair (North Ridgeville), Pam (Jerry) Coghlan (Vermilion) and Cathy (Bob) Manus-Gray (Cuyahoga Falls), grandchildren Rachael and Keith Blair, Tim, Teri, and Kate Coghlan, and Meagan (Jason) Heath and great-grandchildren Jayden and Bradyn Heath, a sister Barbara Adams of Strongville and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband George of 60 years, son Emil T. Manus, daughter-in-law Marsha Manus, sisters Helen (Emil) Dubeck, Betty (Richard) Jenkins, and brothers Ted Adams (Betty) and John Adams. Family and friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Pomen Service at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483 and Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngstown, Ohio. A traditional Orthodox service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngstown, Ohio with Rev. Sinisa Hrvacevic officiating. Olga requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 39 Laird Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44509-2517.
