Patricia A. Pierce Miles, 60, of Cortland, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 1:20 p.m. in her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Affectionately known as Patty by her family and friends, she was born on March 24, 1953 in Warren the daughter of Frank and the late Esther Galgoszy Pierce.

A 1971 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, Patty continued her education from Kent State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology and was employed for 18 years as a Computer Analyst with Seven Seventeen Credit Union in Warren retiring in January 2013.

Patty was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Mary's Church in Warren. She always had a great love for animals and enjoyed playing her accordion.

Patty will be sadly missed by her only son, Dustin of Warren; her father Frank of Bazetta; a sister Deborah (Paul) Maloney and niece Meghan Maloney and nephew Chip Maloney of Florida; brother Michael (Paula) Pierce and niece Alyson Pierce of Howland; and by her co-workers and host of friends.

Patty wishes to thank everyone who supported her through all the years of her illness with cancer since 1995. She had the best care from her doctors, nurses, oncologists and radiologists. She especially wanted to thank her friends and co-workers at Seven Seventeen Credit Union. They were truly her support group.

Calling hours for Patty will take place on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 in St. Mary's Church with Fr. Bernard R. Schmalzried officiating, preceded by closing prayers to be said at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral prior in leaving for church.

Burial will follow in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that memorial contributions be made in Patty's name to the Restoration Fund of St. Mary's Church, 232 Seneca Ave NE, Warren, Ohio 44481.
