Obituary

Patricia A. Smolinsky, 64, of Warren, passed away at 3:54 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren under the care of Hospice of the Valley, with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Warren, Ohio on February 28, 1949, Patricia was the daughter of the late Steve and Stella (Korach) Smolinsky.

Patricia retired from Packard Electric in 2007.

She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, traveling, crafts and refurbishing old furniture she obtained from estate sales. Most of all she enjoyed being a grandmother.

Patricia will be sadly missed by her two children Johnna J. (Stephen) Sprockett of Columbus and Patrick J. Logan of Bazetta; her siblings Steve J. (Sheila) Smolinsky of Brookfield, Joseph Smolinsky of Howland, JoAnn Smolinsky of Hartford and Dianne Johnson of Cuyahoga Falls; two grandchildren Brooke and Benjamin Sprockett and many loving nieces and nephews and by a host of friends.

Calling hours will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, where a Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Lubomir Zhybak officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Awaida and the staff at the Hope Cancer Center for all of the care and comfort that they gave to Patricia during her illness.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Ms. Smolinsky's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
