Paul B. Smith, 91, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 1:48 p.m. in the emergency room of Trumbull Memorial Hospital with his daughter by his side.

Paul was born on December 28, 1921 in Warren the son of the late Frank and Mary (Stacko) Guzek Smith.

Paul was of the catholic faith and a member of Blessed John Paul II Parish in Warren.

A Veteran of the United States Army, Paul served his country during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.

He is survived by a daughter Paula M. Smith of Girard; a sister Helen (Maynard) M. Balling of Cortland; nieces Joanne Hazel of Cortland, Maire Voye of Denton, TX and a nephew John Balling of Kimberly, Idaho.

Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death on October 5, 2003 by his wife Veronica Mary (Petiya) Smith whom he married on July 30, 1949; a brother William Smith and a nephew Sr. Airman Mark Balling.

Calling hours will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 9 until 10 a.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Fr. Christopher Henyk, officiating. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
