Obituary

Florida - Pete Perich, a professional photographer and an active community supporter for nearly five decades snapped his final photograph on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his home in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Pete was 93 years old when he rose with the angels to take on his next project in heaven. He enjoyed an extremely full life and was an inspiration to his family as well as many members of the community. Pete had two favorite saying, they were "Someone upstairs is watching over me" and "Miracles can happen - did to me". Pete was born in Warren, Ohio in 1922 and was the oldest child of Rudy and Helen Perich. The close knit family included Brothers Nick and George and Sister Mildred. Pete attended Warren G. Harding High School until his junior year. The family moved to Bazetta Township in 1938 and he graduated from Bazetta High School in May, 1941, where he was involved in many sports and activities. Pete enlisted in the US Army on October 5, 1942 and served his country during WWII in both the Persian Gulf Command and the European Theater. He was deployed for nearly 3 years until he returned from Europe in December, 1945. He took advantage of the G.I. Bill and studied Photography at Yale University following WWII. Pete returned to Warren where he opened Perich Studio on North Park Avenue the summer of 1947. This was to be the first of three future Perich Studio locations within Warren. At one of the weddings he was photographing, he met Anne Fiorino, a former WWII Navy Wave. It was love at first sight and they were married in 1948. They had four children; Ken, Larry, Linda and David. Anne and Pete were married for 60 years until Anne's passing in 2008. Pete was a well known photographer, and along with his wife Anne, they were the Heart and Soul of Perich Studio for nearly five decades. He was very active in community programs and was always trying to help make Warren a better place to live and work. His most recent undertaking was the Lunar Module Project located on Parkman Road. This was the site where Neil Armstrong took his first flight at the age of 6. Neil Armstrong joined the Lunar Module Team and helped dedicate the site in 2003. Pete is survived by his four children, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
